Bernie - Outback Coast

Kitesurfing is my passion. I started kiteboarding back in 2001 and was lucky enough to travel the world extensively. As a kitesurfer. Let yourself be inspired by some of the information on this website. For a long time I am flying Ozone kites and I am very happy with them.

After 12 months of traveling through 15 countries I returned to Australia. Travel and travel-photography is very exciting and costs a lot of energy as well. Many people think it's the same than the usual two-week holiday, but it isn't. Many changes, cultures, people, languages; good places and not so good ones too. I published more than 30 travel reports on this website along the trip, so enjoy.

On my second round the world trip which started in April 2005 I was flying from Perth to Bangkok, Thailand visiting the North and South. Until the middle of July I was in India and spent my time in the beautiful Himalayas.

Lufthansa was my carrier of choice from Delhi to Hamburg in Germany. This is were I lived before migrating to Australia. After visiting my family and being on a friends wedding I traveled Denmark's westcoast with Mmmeikel. In Europe I went to Amsterdam, Zürich and Mallorca visiting friends and checking out some new places. I got an Interrail ticket and rode to France by train.

End of September I was flying to Portugal where my friend Marc from Hamburg accompanied me. From Lisbon my trip continued to Brazil where Anne-Marie joined me in November. We stayed in Brazil for four months and decided to fly to New York afterwards.

From New York I continued on my own again to Montreal and Vancouver. Via Vancouver I was flying to Tahiti and to enjoyed this big aquarium with 30 degrees water temperature.

Rarotonga was the last stop of my former rtw trip and I thought that if I would have the chance to get back once I will fly one hour north to Aitutaki. Thats what I did this time. It is a beautiful blue lagoon.

Air New Zealand was flying me back home to Perth where my 1978 Volkswagen Kombi campervan was waiting for me. A Kombi is all you need for successfull living.

I booked a Star Alliance rtw ticket with 15 stops and 39.000 miles.
Have a look at my round the world route for 2005/06.
