Rag Rugs
Jackie makes Rag Rugs in two different styles; Shaggy Pile and
Hooky Rug. The Shaggy Pile rugs are made from small pieces of fabric and the end result is a shaggy pile look. The Hooky Rugs are made on a rug frame giving you a more detailed design. This technique allows Jackie to create a rug that does not only look good on the floor but is a piece of art as well.
All the rugs are made from recycled fabric. Jackie finds her fabric at
op-shops, furniture stores and lots of people hand their old clothes
over to Jackie. Jackie works with what she has and finds it very
satisfying to find the right material to suit the design she has in mind.
So when you are looking to buy a new rug for the lounge room etc,
but can't find any you like, this wonderful craft lets you make your
own rug in any shape or size. Your own design, your own colour scheme.
